Charleston County School District (CCSD) is composed of over 80 schools serving children from diverse backgrounds. Like nearly all school districts, Charleston has high-performing schools and low-performing schools. However, in Charleston, a student’s race plays an outsized role in whether he or she attends a good school or a failing one.
